I'm sure many of you have friends and family that have already started their school year. I have seen several 1st day photos posted on Facebook. As our 1st day quickly approaches, there are always tons of emotions from students, parents, and even teachers. My husband said, I don't know how you can be so anxious about your job, you have done the same thing, the same grade, and been at the same school for so many years. What he fails to realize is that yes I have always been a Kindergarten teacher and yes, DCS has been my home for a long time now, about 11 years, but every group of students is different and every teacher wants to do what is best for EVERY child in their room. Finding that balance for a new class is an exciting adventure, but it can cause even the most seasoned teacher to be a bit nervous about the 1st day of school.
So as you begin the journey of picking up last minute supplies, folding new school clothes, putting together lunch packs, and starting those earlier bedtime routines, just remember, your teacher is doing ALL those things too, and more often then not with nervous anticipation, hopefulness, and a SMILE!!
